This project is a new campus for a preschool through 5th grade private Christian school. Initially the center would operate as an after school support element for children needing enhances or additional tutoring in the normal elementary school subject matter. As the program grows, additional phases would allow the program to become an accredited elementary school. Before school and after school programs would be provided. MAPC assisted the owner in development of the program, phasing of the components and development of the site and building design concept and costs.
The design included the following spaces:
Administrative offices
Classrooms
Prayer Room
Assembly Room
Music Room
Nature Room/Courtyard
Athletic fields and playgrounds
Cafeteria
Service/Maintenance
The first phase as shown in the plan above would be approx. 16,000 s.f
at a construction costs of $1.6 million. Subsequent phases include an
additional 18,000 s.f. of classroom space and 9,000 s.f. of athletics space as
well as a freestanding traditional style church building.
The exterior design is playful with brightly colored structural framing, window
frames, metal roof and masonry. Serpentine forms are used to add visual
interest. Our team delivered the programming and concept in less
than 8 weeks.
