Sapulpa Fire Department - New Station #4
Sapulpa, Oklahoma     Featured in Fire Chief Magazine - Station Style  2006

With the extraordinary growth in residential subdivisions and retirement housing during the economic boom of the 1990's,  Sapulpa's fire and police protection officials identified the need for new facilities and services in the remote East section of the City limits.  Having enlisted  MAPC’s Team  to design their new Fire Station #2 in 1994,  Chief Carner called on our team to provided design services for proposed stations #4 and #5.

This station is designed to house a single four man company with the provision for two emergency medical personnel should the City's ambulance service begin to operate out of the Fire Department's facilities in the future. The 6,200 s.f. station will house a dormitory with showers and toilet facilities,  kitchen and dayroom areas as well as space for 3 apparatus,  alarm/dispatch, and a gear/ tool storage area.  A fitness facility is included in Station #4.  Special features will include a decontamination area within the apparatus bay,  special apparatus exhaust contaminate control  systems and airlocks between the apparatus bay and living quarters. The public entry will also be used as a police substation with it's own toilet.  The exterior will be a combination of stone masonry and stucco with a pitched shingle roof to make the stations esthetic as compatible as possible with adjacent residential or commercial neighborhoods.   Construction costs for station #4 completed in 2006 were $1,270,700  or $124.29 per Square Foot.  Construction of station #5 is projected to begin as soon in of 2008.
